Refunds

Fourteen days from purchase. No reason needed. It does not matter that you downloaded the app, used it, or already entered your licence key.

How to ask

Email support@stratamaccleaner.com from the address you bought with, or tell us the payment reference from your receipt. That is the whole process. You do not have to explain yourself, and we would rather you did not feel you had to.

Refunds are processed by Dodo Payments, who took the original payment, and arrive by the same method you paid with. Their timing is the bank's, usually a few working days.

The right of withdrawal, and why we do not ask you to waive it

If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, the law gives you fourteen days to withdraw from a distance purchase without giving a reason. For downloadable software there is an exception: a trader may ask you to consent to immediate delivery and to acknowledge that you thereby lose the right, and most do.

We do not rely on that exception. Our fourteen days apply whether or not you have downloaded and used the software. If you decide Strata is not for you on day thirteen, having used it every day, that is still a refund.

This is deliberate. A tool that tells you what to delete from your own Mac has to be trustworthy before it is useful, and a refund policy with a trapdoor in it is a strange way to begin that relationship.

After fourteen days

Write to us anyway. We would rather sort out a genuine problem than hold you to a date, and a licence you regret is worth less to us than the money.

Separately, and regardless of any time limit: if the software is faulty, not as described, or unfit for the purpose we described it for, your statutory rights apply. In the UK that is the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and there is equivalent law across the EU. Those rights are not limited to fourteen days and nothing on this page reduces them.

What happens to your licence

Your key stops being supported and is no longer eligible for upgrade pricing. We ask that you stop using the paid features.

We cannot switch your copy off remotely. The app verifies its licence on your own Mac with no network involved, which is a privacy decision we are not going to reverse for the sake of enforcement. So this, like much of how Strata works, runs on trust.

The free tier is not a trial and does not expire. Scanning, the disk map, search and the large file list are free forever, with no account. You can see exactly what is filling your Mac before you decide whether removing it is worth paying for.

Upgrades

Moving to a higher tier costs the difference in price, so buying Charon now and Atlas later costs exactly what buying Atlas today would have. If you upgraded and want to undo it, the same fourteen days apply to the upgrade purchase.

Chargebacks

Please write to us first. A refund by email takes minutes; a chargeback takes weeks, costs us a fee whatever the outcome, and gets you your money no faster. We have never refused a refund and do not intend to start.
