How to export a disk report

Strata ProStrata 1.0.17Updated Under a minute

Keep a record of a disk, send it to someone who helps with your Mac, or attach it to a support request. Strata exports the largest folders and files from any scan in three forms.

What you need

  • Strata Pro or the trial.
  • A finished scan of the drive or folder you want to report on.

Steps

  1. Scan what you want to report on

The whole Mac, an external drive or one folder, from the menu at the top right.

  2. Open Report, Summary & Export

Under Insights in the sidebar, on the Summary & Export tab.

  3. Choose a format

    • Export CSV…: up to 2,000 of the largest folders and 2,000 of the largest files, one per row, with path, kind, bytes on disk, size and share of the scan. Opens in Numbers or Excel.
    • Export HTML…: one page with the totals and the 200 largest folders and files. It loads nothing from the internet, so it opens anywhere, offline, and can be emailed as it is.
    • Copy Summary: the place, its size and its five largest folders and files, as text on the clipboard.
  4. Save it

The save panel suggests a name like "Strata report Macintosh HD 2026-09-27.csv". Strata confirms when it is saved.

Check before you send. A report lists file and folder names, which can say more than you mean to share, such as a client's name in a folder. The web page and the spreadsheet are plain files: open them and look first.

What is inside apps and libraries is counted in the totals but not listed line by line, as in Finder. Report in the docs has the details.
